Eden Health Care Services hosted the Eden Foundation Dessert Night – “On my Journey – Stories and Songs of hope,
healing and community” at the Steinbach Evangelical Mennonite Church.
“The Eden Foundation holds many events over the year and one of them is the Dessert Night here in Steinbach where
we invite the community to come and join us and enjoy songs and stories from people who are going through their
mental health challenge or going through their mental health recovery” shared Analyn Einarson, the CEO of the Eden
This was an inspirational evening about healing and the power of supporting one another. This is the fourth year that
Eden has hosted this fundraiser to not only raise money for their many community based causes but also to bring
awareness to mental health issues. ‘Mental Health Heroes’ shared their personal journey through mental health issues
as well as encouraged others to seek help. One of the Heroes shared, “There is no shame, you just need to take that
Singer songwriters David Graham and Warren Friesen performed original songs inspired by their experiences with
mental health as well as shared their struggles and victories.
This event brought members of the community together to empower them to help make a difference in their
community by supporting one another along their journey. Desserts and coffee were shared along with laughs and life
stories between members of the community.
The evening was motivational, broke the silence that surrounds mental health and raised money for the Eden Health
Care Services in the south-east.
