On Monday, January 15, 2018 Eden Health Care Services hosted a Come and Go Open House at our Positive Living Program/Wellness Library building on 21 Loewen Blvd. in Steinbach.
It was a time for the community to learn more about the programs and services offered by the organization in Steinbach and southern Manitoba. It was an opportunity for us to promote Mental Health as it was also Blue Monday, a day that some believe to be the mentally toughest day of the year.
Even though the weather was a very cold one, we appreciated that the Honourable Minister Goertzen was able to stop by along with approximately 60 other individuals! They enjoyed the treats baked by our Positive Living Program staff and members and great music by local musician David Graham. They also went home with a gift bag.
The Term “Blue Monday began in 2005. Dr. Cliff Arnall determined that the third Monday of January is the worst day of the year, due to many factors. He also came up with a formula for Blue Monday – [W + (D-d)] x Tq ÷ [M x Na]. W represents weather, D means debt, d equals monthly income, T is the time since Christmas and q is the time period since we’ve broken our New Year’s Resolutions. M stands for motivational levels, and Na is the feeling of needing to take action.
We would like to thank the staff who worked hard on offering the Open House to the community.
We are grateful for the community members who came to learn more about our programs and services.
Happy New Year!
