On Tuesday morning June 20th a group of students from Parkland Elementary School came to Enns Courts to deliver a cheque to Eden Foundation.
Early this school year, then CEO James Friesen engaged in conversation with the Parkland students, giving them a sense of the work being done by the Eden organization. During the school year, a group of philanthropic youth determined that they would like to participate in that work by providing the seed money to create a play space for children that make their home at Enns Courts on Pembina Avenue in Winkler. Enns Courts consists of two building originally constructed in the early 1980’s and has never had a green space/play area for children; the closest play structures being available at a nearby church. The creation of this play area will make it possible for parents and children to congregate and play just outside their front doors.
Jason Shepherd along with this group of philanthropic students from Parkland Elementary School presented a cheque of $2,000 to Analyn Einarson the new Chief Executive Officer for Eden Health Care Services.
Designs for the new play area are being worked on presently but a start date for construction has not yet been established.
