Mr. Engbrecht is a part-time musician and has been since high school. He has found himself in the company of many excellent musicians in Manitoba and across the country. Victor has sung with a number of Manitoba’s premier musical arts organizations including the Winnipeg Philharmonic Choir, the Mennonite Festival Chorus, Winnipeg Singers, Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and the celebrated choral ensemble, Canzona, under the direction of his father Henry Engbrecht. In 1985-86 Victor and Phillip Ens both sang on CBC’s Hymn Sing under the direction of Winnifred Sim. Following that venture both headed east to study opera; Phillip to Montreal and Victor to Toronto. However after one term at the University of Toronto Opera program Victor turned his back on singing as a career.
Victor turned to another love – agriculture – and found employed in the agricultural industry at a farm equipment dealer for over 30 thirty years. In the fall of 2015 he decided to returned to school to prepare for the future. He expects to graduate from CMU and MBBS in April of 2018 with his Masters in Christian Ministry. Victor and his wife Eileen live in Landmark where he also serves as a minister in their home church. Victor and Eileen have four children, three of whom are married and who have blessed them with five grandchildren. God is good!
