Hours of Work:2015 (based on FTE); 7.75 hr shifts
Salary Range:$58,000- $74,000

Position Summary:

This position provides leadership and expertise in the development of communication and marketing plans and content in support of Eden programs and Eden Foundation events. Depending on the candidate’s skills and interest, this role could expand to include organizing and executing fundraising events for the Eden Foundation.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • University or College degree in communications or marketing is preferred
  • Event planning training is an asset

Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in the communications field, with demonstrated ability to develop communications & marketing strategies and successfully lead their implementation.
  • 2+ years experience in event planning and management
  • Previous experience working with Blackbaud is an asset
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered

Knowledge, Skills and Ability:

  • Strong knowledge of branding strategies and application to various communications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of communication tools including social media platforms, website development, videography, graphic design
  • Project management and organizational skills
  • Strong ability to delegate, organize and coordinate volunteers

  • High level of professional communication skills including verbal and written

  • Residing in or near Winkler for event coordination an asset

  • Valid Driver’s License and use of vehicle
  • Current Vehicle Registration, indicating 3rd Party Liability Insurance of $1,000,000 or more
  • The successful candidate must be willing to commute to Winkler up to once a week; this would increase to up to 3 days a week if taking on Event coordination. Eden offices in Winnipeg and Steinbach are available work locations as well as Winkler.
  • Evening and weekend work will be required during events

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise and leadership for Eden brand development and overall communication and marketing strategy in accordance with Eden Health Care Services and Eden Foundation priorities
  • Develop and implement communication and marketing plans and lead implementation
    • Eden:
      • Program promotion, public relations, media management
      • Reputation & issue management
    • Eden Foundation:
      • Fundraising events
      • Capital campaigns
      • Major gift/legacy gift programs
  • Support the creation and execution of marketing strategies to enhance engagement. Develop and lead efforts to improve current communication channels, including social media, website, media, and marketing materials.
  • Develop email, web site, social media, media (radio, print, online news, etc.) and branding & marketing content/materials, including:
    • Regular review and update of content on Eden web site.
    • Managing and growing Eden’s presence on Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms
    • Capture and creation of photo and video content for events and social media platforms
  • Development of external communications, including press releases and newsletters, as well as mail/email to Eden donors, funders, member churches, boards, and the general public
  • Plan and execute fundraising events, including:
    • Development and coordination of advertising content on all platforms
    • Coordination of schedules, logistics, venues, setup/teardown
    • Volunteer recruitment and management
    • Event budget planning and management
    • Post-event administration and analysis
    • Events may include peer-to-peer fundraisers (e.g. cycle-thons, “Tractor Trek”), concerts, banquets, etc.
