THE NEED
This last year more than ever has shown us the importance of taking care of our mental health and the importance of being able to access mental health care services. In 2020, Recovery of Hope saw our largest demand for counselling services to date with over 5,000 sessions conducted across our six locations including Winkler, Altona, Portage La Prairie, Steinbach, and our two offices in Winnipeg, and the demand has not slowed down.
In order to meet this increasing need, Recovery of Hope is working on expanding their Harrow office in Winnipeg to reduce session wait times and provide necessary mental health care services to the Winnipeg community including individual, couple, family, and group counselling sessions, psychiatry services, and psycho-educational workshops.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Along with Eden Health Care Services, Recovery of Hope’s vision is to implement innovative evidence-based programs based on the needs of the community. This will include the ability to hire more counsellors to reduce session wait times and create additional space for psychiatry services. We are also excited to introduce a new stream of work for Recovery of Hope, group counselling. Research has shown the importance of connection and the ability to share with others in the healing process and we aim to create these opportunities through psychoeducation workshops and group sessions.
With this expansion, Recovery of Hope’s overall goal is continue to grow the Harrow office into a hub of mental health services that provides a holistic and accessible approach to mental health care. All of this growth puts us into a position to create the Eden Winnipeg Mental Wellness Centre. This model is curently represented in Steinbach with the new Eden East Mental Wellness Centre and in Winkler where Eden’s main offices are located.

The Eden Winnipeg Mental Wellness Centre will offer a wealth of support programs and, with the increasing demand for mental health care, we want to be able to meet this demand. Your financial contribution is what will allow us to make our vision and goals a reality.
By partnering with us, your donation to this capital campaign will go directly towards covering the renovation costs to convert our current Winnipeg office space into a mental wellness centre that will be able to meet these demands. We consider your contribution an investment in mental health care as it will help to create a welcoming and healing environment for those who are experiencing distress and pain in their lives and are seeking hope, healing, and community. Our goal is to raise $250,000 to put towards this expansion and launch initiative.
