HEAD for the HILLS is in the Books!

Head for the Hills was a blast this year.  183 cyclists took part and while the month-end numbers are in as of this writing, over $100,000 has been recorded as having been contributed to the event.  The weather was exceptional and the fall colours were just starting, so conditions were perfect.  Eden Foundation and the programs that it serves are blessed exceedingly and abundantly.

The route began and ended on a family estate location that hosts Cripple Creek Music Festival and we were granted the privilege of using the space as well.  Thanks to the respect that cyclists showed in using the space, we have been granted the privilege of returning in 2021.  The respect that people showed in following health and safety protocol during our opening and in returning was also appreciated greatly.  Having staggered the start to group portions also helped in managing the amount of traffic at any given time and location on both road and trail.

The purpose of this event is to provide hope, healing and community to those on a mental health journey and this year that is happening by supporting the work of Recovery of Hope counselling services.  The stress of our current health situation is putting a huge strain on all mental health services and Recovery of Hope being a fee-for-service provider, the funds raised through this event go toward making up the difference between what a professional counsellor costs and what any person asking for help can afford to pay.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the event.  Corporate sponsors made it possible for us to pay for items and services needed to make this event a reality and that also meant that every dollar that was given to cyclists in support of their efforts will in fact go to the services for which the money was raised.  Volunteers who were in any way part of the riding experience made it possible for people to enjoy the ride.  Eden Foundation is so very thankful for all the people who were part of this incredible event.
