Greg still remembers what it felt like to walk through the doors at Eden for the first time. He was 18. His thoughts were racing, his mind felt out of control, and the future he once imagined didn’t seem possible anymore. What once felt steady had become uncertain, and he was struggling to make sense of it all. He didn’t come with answers—only the quiet understanding that he needed help. Walking through those doors wasn’t easy, but it signaled a new beginning.

At Eden, Greg found more than care. He found people who walked alongside him—through the uncertainty, the questions, and the weight of what he was carrying. Through support, encouragement, and professional care, he began to better understand his thoughts, regain stability, and slowly take steps forward again.

During that time, his faith became a quiet source of strength—helping carry him through moments when progress felt slow, or uncertain. But Greg’s journey wasn’t a straight path. Like many people facing mental health challenges, there were setbacks—seasons where life felt steady, and others where it didn’t. After the heartbreaking loss of a child, Greg found himself back at Eden once again—this time carrying a level of grief and pain that is difficult to put into words. And once again, Eden was there to get him back on his feet.

In time, Greg joined the team at Eden—serving in our maintenance department. Greg is a jack-of-all-trades, maintaining outdoor spaces, fixing equipment at the Eden Mental Health Centre and caring for the same spaces that once cared for him.

Today, Greg’s story has come full circle. He is a husband, father and valued member of our team. He lives with stability, purpose, and hope for the future.

“I feel like I have a lifelong debt to Eden,” Greg says.

And that perspective shapes the care, compassion, and pride he brings to his work each day.
