Eden Mental Health Care Services received $1253.86 from Wednesday’s Taste of Summer Charity Barbecue.
Earl Reimer Director of Development for the Eden Foundation explains that the organization focuses on several facets of mental health including integrating struggling youth into the workforce, providing counseling for those who need it, and allowing housing opportunities to those who would otherwise have none. “Those are our dreams,” claims Reimer, “to improve critical care for those who are on that mental health journey, to give housing for those that need housing, and to provide an increased capacity of hope healing and community.”
All funds raised by the barbecue will go towards any Eden initiative that needs support, informs Reimer. He lists their Segue Careers program, their Positive Living program and their Recovery of Hope program all as possible recipients.
“The Barbecue has been a wonderful experience,” Reimer says with a smile, “and we are most appreciative of the engagement of the community. When we see this sort of thing happening it warms the cockles of the heart.”
