Corny Rempel and the Eastman Male Choir teamed up to present Eden’s ‘Harmony for Hope’ concert at Winnipeg’s Sargent Avenue Mennonite Church on Sunday evening, October 28th. The Eden Foundation benefit concert highlighted the work of Recovery of Hope and the services that are provided in Winnipeg as well as numerous community in Southern Manitoba. Eden’s Housing & Supports program was also highlighted, as it is expressed at Concordia Village IV a 45 unit blended housing facility near the Concordia Hospital.
Sargent Avenue Mennonite Church hosted about 350 people for the concert. Elvis tribute artist Corny Rempel sang selections that are best identified as ‘The Gospel Side of Elvis’ with half of the set being accompanied by the Eastman Male Choir.
The blend of largely sacred music presented by Eastman Male Choir followed by the gospel songs popularized through Elvis’ recordings was very well received by the audience who were not shy about expressing their appreciation for the evening.
