Position Summary:
The Quality and Standards Lead is responsible for organizational quality improvement, client safety, risk management, and workplace health and safety programs. The incumbent is also responsible for coordinating the accreditation process and leading select projects related to quality improvement across the organization. The incumbent is a key resource in organizational strategic planning; balanced scorecards; policy, procedure and legislation compliance; and program reviews and processes. The incumbent exercises a high level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision, values and policies of Eden Health Care Services. 

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Post-secondary education preferred (health, social services and/or other related discipline)
    • Formal education in quality management and or relevant experience required
    • Certificate in Patient Safety, Quality Improvement (e.g. Lean Six Sigma), or Risk Management an asset
  • Experience:
    • Two years’ experience in a leadership role and/or project management role required
    • Five years working within a healthcare field an asset
    • Previous experience in a quality management/assurance role an asset
  • Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
    • In-depth knowledge and experience in quality improvement, patient/staff safety, and risk management
    • Knowledge of recovery-oriented practice and psychosocial rehabilitation concepts
    • Previous experience in coaching, coordinating and implementing quality improvement, risk management and patient safety initiatives in a healthcare environment an asset
    • Demonstrated leadership and organization skills with an ability to work within a complex interdisciplinary environment and lead several initiatives simultaneously
    • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills and abilities
    • Demonstrated ability to work with statistical data and information
    • Demonstrated ability to work learn software (will use HIROC software, TEAMs, Microsoft Office (excel, PowerPoint, etc) frequently
    • Good work and attendance record
